Luxuriously soft & really really good quality
We didn't know about Peruvian Pima cotton until we started NINA. We just knew about 'cotton' generally. We didn't realise that there are over 40 different types of cotton. And that we actually had a choice when it came to buying cotton clothes.
Peruvian Pima cotton is the really good stuff. Ours comes from the Pacific coast in Peru. You can get quite scientific about it but basically the fibres (imagine strands of hair) are longer than most other cottons. This means that clothes are softer and longer-lasting.
Before we started NINA in 2019 we considered making bedding. Deliciously soft bedding that felt like a cloud to sleep in. We wanted to make something that this cotton would be ideal for. Bedding would still be great, but we found baby clothes irresistible.
It made complete sense to us that baby clothes should be made from organic Peruvian Pima cotton. The softness is second to none. Not just nice for parents, but perfect for babies. Babies' skin is 30% thinner than adult skin and 25% of children suffer from eczema (the majority developing it before the age of 1, like I did). You want baby clothes that are as soft as possible against their skin and that don't get crispy after a couple of washes. Ideally you can also keep them for future babies. NINA baby clothes tick that box.
Since our own baby Finn came onto the scene recently we've been repeatedly reaching for NINA onesies, kimonos, trousers, and tops. The softness & quality is really noticeable. We're excited for you to enjoy NINA clothes as much as we do!
