Sophie Harpley
About Sophie's 'Irises' muslin design:
“I was pregnant during the pandemic and whiled away a week reading 'The Language of Flowers’ and painting them. The Iris represents good news and hope! I think parenthood is equally challenging and magical. It teaches you to be patient and let go of perfectionism. Kindness to yourself and your little ones is the only key.”
About Sophie's 'Geraniums' muslin design:
"Geraniums was a motif I began painting during maternity leave - I made little geranium cards and then as my daughter started nursery and I had more time; it was the first design I adapted for wallpaper and fabric. The design was inspired by travels in Spain, where the balconies burst with geraniums. This print means a lot because it was the catalyst for growing my business as an artist, around being a mum to my daughter, Flora."
Sophie has collaborated with the likes of The V&A, Bloom & Wild, The Royal Academy of Arts, and the Chelsea Flower Show. She grew up in Bristol and has a Master’s in Graphic Arts.
We’re delighted that Sophie is part of our muslin collections with her designs ‘Irises’ and 'Geraniums'.
