You’ll immediately notice how soft and light our muslin blankets are. They are made in India from 100% organic cotton, with dyes that are Oeko-Tex certified, so are safe for delicate skin.
Machine wash low and tumble dry low, though if you can hang the muslin blankets out to dry that would be best.
About the design
Designed by Alice Allum
"This design is inspired by wild spring flowers. I have kept the colours bright and fresh, with scalloped edging creating a fun frame for the design. I wanted the design to be both playful and soft in nature - something a baby can snuggle up in but can also look fun laid over a cot or chair."
Alice is an illustrator specialising in surface pattern and print design. Alice takes inspiration from natures everyday forms and botanical shapes. Her work is varied and playful, with colour and texture playing a central part to both her process and final outcome.
Sustainability
Our large muslins are made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton by Chaitanya and his team in Northern India. All dyes are Oeko-Tex certified so have been tested to be safe and free from harmful chemicals.
By choosing organic cotton you’re making a good choice all round. It’s better for the environment since only natural processes are used to grow the cotton (e.g. ladybirds help to control pests rather than pesticides). No harmful chemicals (from pesticides or fertilizers) seep into waterways or degrade the soil. And less water is used compared to conventional cotton.
The GOTS certification also covers social standards like decent working hours and no child labour (which has shockingly been an issue in lots of cotton-growing areas around the world).
While a muslin blanket feels a world away from farmers’ fields, by choosing organic cotton you are helping to create a healthier environment for all those who make our products and for our future planet.
