A muslin designed to be displayed, not just used.
This muslin is part of our V&A collaboration through which we license traditional, nostalgic, and celebrated designs from the V&A. The design is then woven into certified organic cotton muslin, making irresistibly stylish muslin blankets for babies.
This muslin fabric is exceptionally breathable, grows softer with every wash, and is gentle enough to use from day one. The muslins are large enough to swaddle your baby, light enough to use as a pram shade, and beautiful enough to drape over a nursing chair.
Machine wash low and tumble dry low (if you can hang the muslin blankets out to dry that's always best).

About the design
Licensed from the V&A, Apothecary’s Garden is a 1926 textile design by C.F.A. Voysey, the celebrated Arts & Crafts designer known for his beautifully stylised patterns inspired by the natural world.
This charming design brings together wild flowers, birds, foliage and grasshoppers in a gentle garden scene, full of movement and delicate detail.
With its soft botanical feel and playful little creatures hidden amongst the plants, the print feels both timeless and full of character.
A whimsical and nature-inspired design, Apothecary’s Garden brings a touch of storybook charm to an everyday essential — perfect for little nature lovers and curious explorers.
These muslins are extra large, you'll notice the difference!
At 110cm x 110cm in size, they are extra large muslins meaning extra useful.
A parenting essential, ideal for swaddling, mopping up spills, breastfeeding, a little extra warmth in the buggy, or even acting as a sunshade.
Our large muslins are made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton by Chaitanya and his team in Northern India. All dyes are Oeko-Tex certified so have been tested to be safe and free from harmful chemicals.
By choosing organic cotton you’re making a good choice all round. It’s better for the environment since only natural processes are used to grow the cotton (e.g. ladybirds help to control pests rather than pesticides). No harmful chemicals (from pesticides or fertilizers) seep into waterways or degrade the soil. And less water is used compared to conventional cotton.
The GOTS certification also covers social standards like decent working hours and no child labour (which has shockingly been an issue in lots of cotton-growing areas around the world).
While a muslin blanket feels a world away from farmers’ fields, by choosing organic cotton you are helping to create a healthier environment for all those who make our products and for our future planet.
