A muslin designed to be displayed, not just used.
Each design is created exclusively for NINA by an independent British artist, then woven into certified organic cotton muslin. This muslin fabric is exceptionally breathable, grows softer with every wash, and is gentle enough to use from day one. The muslins are large enough to swaddle your baby, light enough to use as a pram shade, and beautiful enough to drape over a nursing chair. Because every muslin design is created by an artist, no two collections that we release are identical. Only on a few occasions will we produce the design again. Which means that when a print is gone, it’s gone.
Machine wash low and tumble dry low (if you can hang the muslin blankets out to dry that's always best).

About the design
Created by artist Maude Made, 'Sea Creatures' is a joyful underwater-inspired print full of colour, movement and curious little details.
This design brings together crabs, lobsters, squid, octopus, shells, seaweed and coral in a playful ocean scene. Each creature has its own charming personality, creating a print that feels lively, adventurous and full of seaside wonder.
A whimsical and characterful design, Sea Creatures brings a splash of the ocean to an everyday essential. Perfect for little explorers, beach lovers and curious minds.
As artist Maude says herself about the muslin:
"The Sea Creatures design is born out of a love of the coast, sea weed, shells and sand. It is playful and colourful, so ideal for children, who are usually attracted to bright clear colours and simple shapes."
Maude is a maker, decorator, stitcher and painter. She designs tiles, illustrates children's books, makes clothes, paints murals, and styles photoshoots. Her work is centered on the home and family, the domestic and the everyday, bringing beauty to the useful, and bringing the outdoors indoors. Her love of birds, trees, flowers, folk art, and the countryside influence her work. Her work springs from wonder, longing, and love.
These muslins are extra large, you'll notice the difference!
At 110cm x 110cm in size, they are extra large muslins meaning extra useful.
A parenting essential, ideal for swaddling, mopping up spills, breastfeeding, a little extra warmth in the buggy, or even acting as a sunshade.
Our large muslins are made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton by Chaitanya and his team in Northern India. All dyes are Oeko-Tex certified so have been tested to be safe and free from harmful chemicals.
By choosing organic cotton you’re making a good choice all round. It’s better for the environment since only natural processes are used to grow the cotton (e.g. ladybirds help to control pests rather than pesticides). No harmful chemicals (from pesticides or fertilizers) seep into waterways or degrade the soil. And less water is used compared to conventional cotton.
The GOTS certification also covers social standards like decent working hours and no child labour (which has shockingly been an issue in lots of cotton-growing areas around the world).
While a muslin blanket feels a world away from farmers’ fields, by choosing organic cotton you are helping to create a healthier environment for all those who make our products and for our future planet.
