A NINA muslin is not just a parenting essential but an artwork, designed to be displayed to the world.

Each design is created exclusively for NINA by an independent British artist, then woven into certified organic cotton muslin. This muslin fabric is exceptionally breathable, grows softer with every wash, and is gentle enough to use from day one. The muslins are large enough to swaddle your baby, light enough to use as a pram shade, and beautiful enough to drape over a nursing chair. Because every muslin design is created by an artist, no two collections that we release are identical. Only on a few occasions will we produce the design again. Which means that when a print is gone, it’s gone.

Machine wash low and tumble dry low (if you can hang the muslin blankets out to dry that's always best).

About the design

Created by artist Natalia Bagniewska, BEGIN is a gentle and thoughtful print with a soft sense of hope, movement and new starts.

Her design features delicate blue birds and tiny star-like details, framed by a bold blue border and handwritten words that read “Begin, again and again.”

The simple linework gives the print a calm, hand-drawn feel, while the repeated birds bring a sense of lightness, freedom and quiet encouragement.

A poetic and uplifting design, BEGIN brings a little reminder of fresh starts to new parents.

"The design for BEGIN was inspired by the unknown adventure that starts as soon as parenthood begins. The hope and the uncertainty are symbolised in the flying bird and the blue colours used. I wanted it to feel both optimistic and a little unsteady, so decided to use free flowing lines and hand drawn type to create that feeling."

Natalia is an artist and designer based in London with a Polish heritage, from which she draws a lot of her inspiration from. Her design background means she has an eye and love for typography, as well as digital and handcrafted mediums to create prints that feel both whimsical and nostalgic.
